A very busy October!
October has been a particularly busy month for Daluca this year with children attending both the Classical Performance Awards and Orpington Festival.
October 11th was a very exciting day for those who attended the Classical Performance Awards for the second year. Everyone danced beautifully and worked extremely hard throughout the day. Special mentions must go to Grace who came 1st and Amelia who came 3rd in the lower grades, and to Darcey who came 2nd and Bethan who came 3rd in the higher grades. Bethany was also awarded the performance endeavour award for the higher grades. These are fantastic results and all who attended should be very proud of themselves!
As always October half term is a busy one for those at Daluca who compete in festivals, as we returned to Orpington for the 9th year to compete, the week was definitely a success! The festival started off extremely well with the senior troupe placing first, the success continued with the Intermediate Ballet group also receiving 1st place! Orpington is always a very exciting festival due to its Premier Award Category which is held at the end of the festival. The following Daluca students qualified:
Ballet: Darcey, Bethany and Grace – a special commendation went to Grace.
Modern: Darcey, Bethany, Grace, Naomi, Hannah, Bethan and Jenna – special commendation went to Naomi and Bethan!
The successful week did not end there as we also came away with three trophies, well done all!
